Individual Voluntary Arrangement (IVA)
Upon receiving notification of a County Court Judgement, you have one month in which to pay the amount in full BEFORE the CCJ becomes registered with the Register of County Court Judgements. Once the CCJ has been registered, even if you pay it in full at a later date, it will remain on your credit record for six years. This will affect your credit history, but it is not the end of the world as it will still be possible to get finance from specialist lenders.
A few facts about our mortgages, remortgages and our panel of lenders:
* WE will consider everyone, whether you have one CCJ against your name, or even over seven!
* Some of our lenders do not take into consideration CCJs for amounts lower than £150.
* Although CCJs (both paid and outstanding) remain on your record for six years, many of our lenders will only take into consideration CCJs that have been made in the last 2 or 3 years.
* In addition, many of our lenders will only consider any CCJs that are OUTSTANDING, so if they've been paid in full, they don't affect the products you may qualify for.
* In many instances you will be able to remortgage your home to pay off any outstanding CCJs or other debts.
